Uganda Lifestyle

While Uganda has all the latest day modern distractions of every day life, like malls, resorts, spas, cell service, internet, traffic, etc. Ugandans still hold to their traditional values of family. Families are very extended and all support each other during daily life and during times of trial.

Everything grows in Uganda, so fresh food is abundant. Most families have property in the country where they raise food, and even those that live and work in the city return home to the country to see family on a regular basis. Ugandans in the city still often purchase their fresh produce almost daily. Even restaurants serve fresh squeezed juices. Fresh produce is everywhere and a healthy balanced diet is standard.

The Ugandan lifestyle is full of large family gatherings and connections and always lots of healthy food. Candy and junk food, while available, is considered a treat rather than every day food.

Tourism

Would you prefer to relax and get away from it all? How about a high end resort where you can see traditional Ugandan dances, or experience a high end spa and get a massage or a coffee scrub? Have you ever wanted to visit the source of the Nile or a traditional Ugandan craft market?

You can even trek into the jungle to see gorilla families in their natural habitat on a guided tour. No matter what your pleasure, Uganda is an amazing experience. Let us know what you enjoy and Host Moms Uganda, can suggest things to do during your stay. We are happy to also make arrangements for not only tourism. but also logistics like a dedicated driver, cook if you are staying in an apartment instead of a hotel, etc.
